Ibn Abbas RA narrates that the Prophet ﷺ married Maymunah while in the state of ihram. Authentic narrations, including from Maymunah RA herself, state clearly that he was outside of ihram (in the state of hil) when the marriage took place. The majority position, and scholarly consensus, favors Maymunah's account; Ibn Abbas appears to have made an honest mistake.
On the way out of Makkah after Umrah al-Qada, al-Abbas suggested the Prophet ﷺ marry Maymunah bint al-Harith, his sister-in-law (Umm al-Fadl's sister), who had been widowed after her first husband Abu Rahm ibn Abd al-Uzza died and did not wish to remain among the Quraysh. Al-Abbas, acting as her wali, arranged the marriage and the Prophet ﷺ agreed, having known of her from his days in Makkah. The nikah took place on the third day of the Umrah. When the Quraysh insisted the agreed three days were up, the Prophet ﷺ asked to stay a little longer to hold a wedding feast for them, but they refused and he honored the treaty and departed. The marriage was consummated afterward outside Makkah at Sarif, where Maymunah RA later passed away in 51 AH and is buried to this day; the last of the Prophet ﷺ's wives to die, as she was the last he married.
Maymunah RA is counted as the last wife the Prophet ﷺ married. The episode also shows the Prophet ﷺ using even his own marriage as a vehicle for dawah, offering hospitality to soften the hearts of the Quraysh.

Now widowed and unwilling to remain among the Quraysh, Maymunah asked her sister Umm al-Fadl to find her a husband, so Umm al-Fadl told her husband al-Abbas, who went straight to the Prophet ﷺ.
Is it truly so hard for me to stay a little longer among you? Let me be a groom among you a while more, and tomorrow we will have a feast: come and enjoy the food.
The Quraysh came to tell the Prophet ﷺ that the agreed three days in Makkah were up and that he must leave.
