العَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ المُطَّلِبِ
Had said he was a Muslim earlier, but real Iman is said to have entered after the Battle of Badr, when the Prophet ﷺ told him where his secret stash of money was; he began sending reports to the Prophet ﷺ afterward.
Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib RA was an uncle of the Prophet ﷺ, only about three years older than him and a close friend. A wealthy merchant with a famously loud voice, he was married to Umm al-Fadl RA, mother of al-Fadl, Abdullah ibn Abbas RA and Qutham. He protected the Prophet ﷺ's interests while remaining in Makkah, attended the Second Pledge of Aqabah, was captured with the Quraysh at Badr and ransomed, and openly joined the Muslims before the Conquest of Makkah, rallying them at Hunayn with his voice. Honored by the caliphs after the Prophet ﷺ, he died in 32 AH, and his descendants founded the Abbasid caliphate.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّمَن فِي أَيْدِيكُم مِّنَ الْأَسْرَىٰ إِن يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ خَيْرًا يُؤْتِكُمْ خَيْرًا مِّمَّا أُخِذَ مِنكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
“O Prophet, say to whoever is in your hands of the captives, "If Allah knows [any] good in your hearts, He will give you [something] better than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."”
Al-Abbas said this ayah was revealed about him and the other captives.
