The whole life in twelve chapters, from his birth in Makkah to his passing in Madinah. A first path through the Seerah: each chapter is a landmark event, and every one of them opens onto the fuller storyline it belongs to.

From the cave of Hira to the first public call: the months of true dreams, the angel's command to read, Khadija and Waraqa, the pause and the command to rise and warn, the first believers one by one, and the house of al-Arqam.

The middle years in Makkah: the first flight to the Najashi, the prostration at Surah al-Najm and the false rumour that brought the emigrants home, the second emigration and the Quraysh's failed embassy, the conversions of Hamzah and Umar within three days of each other, and the boycott the Quraysh answered them with.

The Year of Sorrow to the Night Journey
The tenth year of the dawah took Abu Talib and Khadija RA within weeks of each other, then Abu Lahab's protection, then Ta'if. Read the lowest point of the Makkan years through to the ease that followed it: the Night Journey, and the morning the Quraysh heard of it.

The Road to Badr
From the first permission to fight, through the caravan raids and Nakhla, to the plain of Badr and the weeks after it: the executions on the road home, the ransoms, Abu Lahab's end, and the expulsion of the Banu Qaynuqa. In the ninth year Arabia came to Madinah: Adi ibn Hatim, the Bedouin Dimam, the chiefs of Thaqif with their conditions, Musaylimah with his demand, the bishops of Najran with their question about Isa, and the tribes of the east and Yemen. The lectures give few dates within the year, so most positions follow their order of telling and are marked approximate.
