The identification of the woman as the wife of Abu Jahal is only a possibility mentioned by some narrators, not established.
After the Prophet ﷺ went weeks or months without receiving new revelation, a woman of the Quraysh, said by some to be the wife of Abu Jahal, told him she saw that his 'shaytan' (Jibril) had abandoned him, since he had nothing new to recite. The Prophet ﷺ was grieved greatly by this, and Allah then revealed Surah al-Duha [Quran, 93:3-5], reassuring him that his Lord had not abandoned nor detested him.
