Supplication
O Allah, save Ayyash, save Hisham, save the mustad'afin, and send your punishment upon the Quraysh.
A du'a qunut made after the Prophet ﷺ's own emigration to Madinah, for those still oppressed in Makkah.
After the Prophet ﷺ had himself emigrated to Madinah, he repeatedly asked the Muslims who would volunteer to rescue Ayyash ibn Abi Rabi'ah and Hisham ibn al-As from their imprisonment in Makkah, a mission few were willing to risk. Al-Walid ibn al-Walid, the older brother of Khalid ibn al-Walid, volunteered, travelled to Makkah, entered the city at night, located the dungeon, broke in, cut their bonds, and brought both men safely back to Madinah.
