Abdullah ibn Salam, a learned Jewish rabbi of Madinah, rushed to Quba among the first to see the Prophet ﷺ as soon as he heard of his arrival. Looking at his face, he recognized through firasa (spiritual insight) that this was not the face of a liar. He would later narrate that the first words he heard the Prophet ﷺ say were an instruction to spread salam, feed people, be good to relatives, and pray at night.
Abdullah ibn Salam's hadith is remembered as the first hadith narrated from Madinah, and his early recognition and acceptance of the Prophet ﷺ is notable since he was one of the few Jewish rabbis of Madinah to embrace Islam.
