خالِدُ بنُ الوَلِيدِ
Embraced Islam before the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah alongside Amr ibn al-As and Uthman ibn Talha, after a long period of doubt following Uhud, Khandaq, and Hudaybiyyah, and a letter from his brother al-Walid ibn al-Walid RA urging him to convert.
Khalid ibn al-Walid RA, the Sword of Allah, was the son of al-Walid ibn al-Mughirah of Banu Makhzum and the most capable general of the Quraysh against the Muslims, whose flank attack turned the Battle of Uhud. Feeling that Muhammad ﷺ would prevail, he accepted Islam with Amr ibn al-As and Uthman ibn Talha before the Conquest of Makkah.
Months later he saved the Muslim army at Mu'tah, earning his title from the Prophet ﷺ, and he led columns at the Conquest, captured Ukaydir of Dawmat al-Jandal, and was sent to Najran. After the Prophet ﷺ's death he commanded in the Wars of Apostasy and the early conquests, and he died in his bed in 21 AH, grieving that he had not died a martyr.
