عُثْمانُ بنُ عَفَّانَ
The second of the four converts brought to Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr RA.
Uthman ibn Affan RA was a wealthy and much-loved man of Banu Umayyah who accepted Islam early through Abu Bakr RA. He married the Prophet ﷺ's daughter Ruqayyah RA and, after her death, her sister Umm Kulthum RA. He emigrated to Abyssinia and Madinah, stayed behind from Badr at the Prophet ﷺ's order to nurse Ruqayyah, was the envoy whose rumored death prompted the Pledge of Ridwan at Hudaybiyyah, and generously equipped the army for Tabuk. As the third caliph he standardized the copies of the Qur'an, and he was killed by rebels besieging his house in Madinah.
