Ruqayyah RA

Ruqayyah bint Muhammad ﷺ RA was a daughter of the Prophet ﷺ and Khadijah RA, whose engagement to a son of Abu Lahab was broken off when the Prophet ﷺ began preaching. She married Uthman ibn Affan RA and emigrated with him to Abyssinia and later to Madinah. When the Muslims marched to Badr in 2 AH she was gravely ill, and the Prophet ﷺ had Uthman stay to nurse her. She died, and Uthman was finishing her burial in al-Baqi' as news of the victory arrived. She was the first of the Prophet ﷺ's daughters to die, and Uthman later married her sister Umm Kulthum.
