Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi al-Sarh RA

Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi al-Sarh RA was a man of the Quraysh and foster brother of Uthman ibn Affan RA, who accepted Islam and was one of the scribes of revelation, then apostatized and claimed in Makkah that he had altered the Qur'an. Excluded from the amnesty at the Conquest of Makkah, he was hidden by Uthman and brought before the Prophet ﷺ, who after a long silence accepted his plea. His repentance was sincere: his Islam became strong, he later served as governor of Egypt, and he died a righteous death.
