By Allah, I was granted the honor of loosing the first arrow in the Way of Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ's cousin Ubaydah ibn al-Harith led this expedition against the Quraysh. Arrows were exchanged between the two sides but no blood was shed, and a neutral party intervened to broker a truce before the Quraysh and the Muslims went their separate ways. It was during this encounter that Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas became the first person to shoot an arrow fi sabilillah (in the Way of Allah). Afterward, the neutral tribe that had intervened formed an alliance with the Muslims.
Outcome: No fighting occurred; a truce was brokered and a new tribal alliance formed.
Known as "the first arrow fi sabilillah": the first time an arrow was shot in a military encounter on the Muslim side.
