On an occasion when someone irritated al-Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib RA, the Prophet ﷺ gave a khutbah in his defense, declaring before the Muhajirun and the Ansar that the uncle of a man holds the same standing as a father, and instructing them not to irritate his uncle.
