Who are you?
Asked of the emissary Heraclius secretly sent from the tribe of Tanukh to observe three signs confirming the Prophet ﷺ's prophethood.
I am a man from Tanukh and the Caesar has sent me.
You should embrace the religion of your forefather Abraham.
I will think about it; and here is the letter from Caesar.
I sent my letter to Kisra the Emperor of Persia, but he tore it up, so Allah will tear his kingdom up. And I sent my letter to Caesar, and he protected it, so Allah will protect his kingdom.
Your messenger told us your Book mentions a Jannah that is as broad as the skies and the earth. So if Jannah is as big as the skies and the earth, where then is Jahannam according to your religion?
Subhan'Allah, where do you think the night goes when the day comes?
O Muhammad ﷺ, I am leaving now and will go back to the Caesar.
After waiting a day or two hoping to see the Prophet ﷺ's back, he had resolved to return to Heraclius having confirmed two of the three signs he was sent to check.
Wait. Go and tell your master what you have seen.
He ﷺ turned around and lowered his shirt to show the Seal of Prophethood on his back: the third sign.
I saw the Seal of Prophethood in between his two shoulder blades, resembling a large cupping mark.
You are an ambassador, and you have a right over us, and if we had something to give you, we would have given you, but right now, we are in travel, and I don't have anything.
Ya Rasulullah, I will give him a gift.
Uthman ibn Affan RA then gifted the Tanukhi a yellow hulla.
Who amongst you will host this man for the night?
Who is your secretary that will read to you?
Muawiyah.
You do not guide those whom you love, rather, Allah guides those whom He pleases.
The Prophet ﷺ laughed at the Tanukhi's answer before responding, reciting this ayah.
