أَسْماءُ بنتُ عُمَيْس
Asma bint Umays RA was a renowned woman Companion who made both emigrations, to Abyssinia and Madinah, and was married in turn to Ja'far ibn Abi Talib RA, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq RA and Ali ibn Abi Talib RA, bearing sons to each. She lived in Abyssinia for over a decade and, on returning, won from the Prophet ﷺ the ruling that its emigrants had made two emigrations. She was widowed when Ja'far fell at Mu'tah and gave birth to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr on the Farewell Hajj. She was a sister of Maymunah RA, a wife of the Prophet ﷺ, through their mother Hind bint Awf.
