Sariyya of Qarada

Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions have blocked our passages. If we take the sea route, most of the tribes along the coast have already given their allegiance to him and are upon his religion. If we remain here, we will not go on any journey, we will not interact with the Syrians, we will not get any money, and our money will dwindle to nothing, and our life depends on the winter and summer journeys.

The Quraysh mean to slip their caravan north through Iraq to reach Syria. I overheard one of their elite boast of it.

Sent by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to intercept the Quraysh caravan: it came into our hands, with its camels, its leather, and more than fifty thousand dirhams, without a single casualty.
