إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا
Never does anyone afflicted with a calamity and he is patient at that and makes this du'a, except that Allah will surely reward him for it and replace it for him with a better thing: "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we will return. O Allah, reward me for my calamity, and replace it for me with that which is better."
Later relayed by Abu Salama RA to Umm Salama RA, who recited it herself after his death.
