الأسود بن المطلب
Al-Aswad ibn al-Muttalib was an elder of the Quraysh and a distant uncle of the Prophet ﷺ who never accepted Islam. He lost all three of his sons at Badr in 2 AH, and under Abu Sufyan's ban on mourning he longed to weep for his youngest, Zum'ah. After Badr, as the Quraysh feared for their trade, he proposed sending their caravan by the Iraq route, and it was captured at al-Qaradah.
