At the Conquest of Makkah, Safwan ibn Umayyah (who had never spoken to his cousin Umayr ibn Wahab since Umayr's conversion years earlier) fled the city, assuming the Prophet ﷺ would never forgive his role in the earlier plot against him. Umayr asked the Prophet ﷺ for a guarantee of protection (aman) for Safwan, which was granted; Umayr then found Safwan and convinced him to return, where he pronounced the shahada before the Prophet ﷺ.
Outcome: Safwan ibn Umayyah accepted Islam.
