Who will take me in, so that I may preach the message of monotheism? Indeed, the Quraysh have prevented me from preaching the speech of Allah.
After Abu Talib's death removed the Prophet ﷺ's protection and Mut'im ibn Adi's guardianship proved precarious, the Prophet ﷺ realized he needed to leave Makkah. Having already failed at Ta'if, he began presenting himself to the tribes gathered for hajj at Mina, asking them to take him in and transfer their allegiance to him, a known but rare practice among the Arabs. He approached numerous tribes, including Kindah, Banu Kalb, Banu Hanifa, and Banu Amir ibn Sa'sa'a, most of whom rejected the message, some more harshly than others.
This period of rejection at Mina preceded the Prophet ﷺ's eventual reception by the Khazraj of Yathrib, marking the turning point that would lead to the Hijrah.
