Mut'im ibn Adi

Mut'im ibn Adi was chief of Banu Nawfal and the most senior man in Makkah, who never accepted Islam but was among the least hostile of its leaders. He secretly supplied food to Banu Hashim during the boycott and helped bring it to an end. After the Prophet ﷺ was rejected at Ta'if, Mut'im granted him protection, escorting him back into Makkah with his armed sons, and the Prophet ﷺ lived under that protection until the Hijrah. He died shortly before Badr, and the Prophet ﷺ said that had Mut'im asked, he would have freed all the prisoners of Badr for his sake. His son Jubayr RA became a Muslim.
