The "Mad" Camel That Prostrated to the Prophet ﷺ

A group of the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ saying their camel had gone as mad as a rabid dog and begging him not to approach it, but the Prophet ﷺ entered its pen alone. On seeing him, the camel lowered its head as if in sajdah; the Prophet ﷺ rubbed its head, calmed it, and returned it to its owners. The sahaba then asked whether, if even a speechless animal prostrated to him, it would not be more fitting for them to prostrate to him too, and the Prophet ﷺ forbade it, saying it is not permitted for any human to prostrate to another human.
