A camel that had grown too old and worn for work or even for carrying water, and which its owners had decided to slaughter, ran into the Prophet ﷺ's Masjid, placed its head in his lap, and cried. The Prophet ﷺ asked the sahaba to find its owner, saying it had a story to tell; when the owner explained the animal was to be slaughtered that night, the Prophet ﷺ asked him to either gift him the camel or sell it to him, and the owner agreed.
A small mercy, shown to a single animal that did not want to die, that illustrates the Prophet ﷺ's compassion even for creatures without speech.

What is the problem? There is no problem. We worked the camel and when it stopped working properly, we used it to carry water, then when it couldn't even do this, last night we decided to slaughter it and distribute the meat amongst us.
