During the Hijrah journey, the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA came to the tent of an elderly Bedouin woman, Umm Ma'bad, near Qadid, and asked to purchase food. She had none to offer, and her husband was away searching for food. Seeing an old, barren goat in the corner, the Prophet ﷺ asked permission to milk it; when she agreed, he invoked the name of Allah and moved his hand under its udder, and it filled with milk. Abu Bakr RA and the Prophet ﷺ drank their fill and left the rest for her and her husband. When her husband returned and heard what had happened, and heard Umm Ma'bad's description of their guests, he realized they must have been the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA, and the couple accepted Islam.
Umm Ma'bad is one of the few sahabiyyat who directly described the Prophet ﷺ's physical appearance: his height, hair, and features.
