What happened

Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ayt sarcastically invited the Prophet ﷺ to a meal. The Prophet ﷺ told him he would not eat with him until he testified the shahadah. In his anger, Uqba spat on the Prophet ﷺ's face; the Prophet ﷺ calmly wiped it away.

Significance

The Prophet ﷺ prophesied that he would kill Uqba, tied up, outside the valleys of Makkah. Uqba was so frightened by this that, years later, he nearly refused to march out with the Quraysh army to Badr; when he did go, he was one of only two prisoners executed after the battle, fulfilling the prophecy.
