Umm Salamah Hind bint Abi Umayyah RA was a Mother of the Believers from Banu Makhzum, known for her wisdom. She emigrated to Abyssinia with her first husband Abu Salamah RA and left a vivid account of life there, then endured more than a year's separation from husband and son before emigrating alone to Madinah. Widowed after Uhud, she married the Prophet ﷺ around 4 AH. At Hudaybiyyah her counsel that he shave his head first led the Companions to follow him. She was among the last of the wives to die, in 59 AH, and was buried in al-Baqi'.
