Huyayy ibn Akhtab was the most respected chieftain of the Jewish tribe of Banu al-Nadir in Madinah and the most openly hostile of its leaders toward the Prophet ﷺ; his daughter Safiyyah RA later became a wife of the Prophet ﷺ. After Banu al-Nadir were expelled to Khaybar, he went to Makkah to rally the Quraysh and the tribes into the confederate army that besieged Madinah at Khandaq, and persuaded Banu Qurayza to break their treaty. He was captured with Banu Qurayza and executed in 5 AH.
