Abu Yasir ibn Akhtab was a leading man of Banu al-Nadir, brother of Huyayy ibn Akhtab and uncle of Safiyyah RA. Safiyyah recalled that on the day the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, her father and uncle returned so dejected they did not notice her, and she heard Abu Yasir ask whether he was the one, and Huyayy answer that he was, and that he would be his enemy for life.
