Ka'b ibn Asad al-Qurazi

Ka'b ibn Asad al-Qurazi was the chieftain of the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayzah in Madinah and held his tribe's written covenant with the Prophet ﷺ. During the siege of the Trench in 5 AH, Huyayy ibn Akhtab pressed him all night until he tore up the covenant, though he said he had seen nothing from the Prophet ﷺ but truthfulness, and he refused to break the Sabbath to join the confederates' assault. Besieged after the confederates withdrew, he urged his people to accept Islam, saying they knew the Prophet ﷺ was the one foretold in their books, but they refused his proposals. He was executed after the surrender, saying he would have followed the Prophet ﷺ were it not that the Jews would say he did so out of fear of death.
