Abd Manaf ibn Qusayy, whose given name was al-Mughira, was the son of Qusayy ibn Kilab and the great-great-grandfather of the Prophet ﷺ. Known for his handsomeness and leadership, he became famous and beloved even in his father's lifetime and was entrusted with many responsibilities. His descendants, Banu Abd Manaf, included the clans of Hashim, al-Muttalib, Nawfal and Abd Shams, and so both the Prophet ﷺ's family and Abu Sufyan's.
