Toward the end of Safar in the 11th year of the Hijrah, shortly before he fell ill, the Prophet ﷺ visited the site of Uhud and made a special du'a for the Muslims who had been killed there, foremost among them his uncle Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib RA.
Recognized in hindsight as one of several signs that the Prophet ﷺ's death was near: by telling the martyrs he would meet them, he was indicating that he was himself about to depart to the next world.
