Jibril has commanded me to go to Baqi'.
Said after waking Abu Muwayhiba RA in the middle of the night.
~Last day of Safar / 1st of Rabi' al-Awwal, 11 AH · 11 AH
On the last day of Safar or the first day of Rabi' al-Awwal, 11 AH, the Prophet ﷺ woke in the middle of the night and knocked on the door of his mawla Abu Muwayhiba RA, telling him that Jibril had commanded him to go to Baqi' al-Gharqad, the graveyard of Madinah. They went together in the night, and he made a beautiful du'a for the people buried there. This was the last time the Prophet ﷺ ever visited Baqi'.
On the way back, the Prophet ﷺ told Abu Muwayhiba RA that Allah had given him the choice between the keys to this world and everlasting life followed by Jannah, or meeting Allah immediately and being in Jannah, and that he had already chosen the latter. Together with his visit to Uhud around the same time, this is counted among the clearest signs that he ﷺ knew his death was near.

Jibril has commanded me to go to Baqi'.
Said after waking Abu Muwayhiba RA in the middle of the night.
Do you know that Allah has given me the choice of the keys to this world and everlasting life, then Jannah, or to meet Allah right now and be in Jannah?
Said to Abu Muwayhiba RA on the way back from Baqi' al-Gharqad.
May my mother and father be given as a ransom for you, ya Rasulullah; choose this whole world for all of eternity, and then get Jannah!
No, I have already chosen.
