Uthman ibn Maz'un RA

Uthman ibn Maz'un RA was one of the famous early Companions, among the fifteen of the first emigration to Abyssinia. Returning to Makkah, he lived safely under the protection of al-Walid ibn al-Mughirah, but his conscience would not let him stay safe while his brothers suffered, and he publicly gave the protection back. That same day he contradicted the poet Labid's line that every blessing will pass, saying the bliss of Jannah never ends, and was struck in the eye; refusing al-Walid's renewed protection, he said his other eye was in need of the same blessing.
