عمار بن ياسر
Ammar ibn Yasir RA was among the very first Muslims, the son of Yasir RA and Sumayyah RA, a family of slaves in Makkah, and a close friend of Suhayb al-Rumi RA and Bilal RA. The Quraysh tortured his family before his eyes, killing both his parents as the first martyrs of Islam, until Ammar spoke words of disbelief under duress; the Prophet ﷺ reassured him that his heart was firm, and verses of Surah al-Nahl were revealed about such cases. The Prophet ﷺ said his heart was filled with faith, and while Ammar carried stones for the Masjid in Madinah foretold that "the transgressing group" would kill him.
He served in the Prophet ﷺ's campaigns, including the Trench and Tabuk, and was among those sent to burn the hypocrites' Masjid al-Dirar. He fought for Ali RA at Siffin in 37 AH and was killed by the forces of Mu'awiyah RA, which led Sunni scholars to hold that Ali was closer to the truth while regarding both sides as sincere.

فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
“If you were to reject them, you would be from the wrongdoers.”
This ayah (Q6:52) is the Qur'an's defense of poor believers like Ammar ibn Yasir RA against Abu Jahl's demand that they be expelled.
مَن كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ إِيمَانِهِ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
“Whoever disbelieves in Allah after their belief — not those who are forced while their hearts are firm in faith, but those who embrace disbelief wholeheartedly — they will be condemned by Allah and suffer a tremendous punishment.”
This is the exact ayah revealed clarifying that Ammar ibn Yasir RA's forced words under torture did not count against him, since his heart remained firm in faith.
