سُمَيَّة بنت خَبَّاط
Sumayyah RA was one of the earliest Muslims and the first martyr of Islam. A slave of Makkah with her husband Yasir RA, she accepted Islam with him and their son Ammar RA and was among the first seven to declare Islam openly. Having no protector, the family was tortured together, and when Sumayyah rebuked Abu Jahl for his cruelty, he killed her with a spear. The Prophet ﷺ honoured her memory by calling Ammar "son of Sumayyah."
