Dated by the expedition of al-Muraysi', whose year is disputed: Ibn Sa'd has Sha'ban 5 AH, Ibn Ishaq 6 AH, and al-Bukhari cites Musa ibn Uqbah for 4 AH.
Al-Harith ibn Abi Dirar came to Madinah to ransom his people, not yet aware his daughter Juwayriyya had married the Prophet ﷺ and that the Ansar had freed all the captives. The Prophet ﷺ told him it was Juwayriyya's own decision whether to return with her father. When al-Harith saw his daughter willingly choose to remain with the Prophet ﷺ over him, he was so affected that he embraced Islam.
Because al-Harith was chieftain, his whole tribe followed him into Islam. The Prophet ﷺ reinstated him as chieftain and returned all of the tribe's wealth, sheep, goats, and camels, so the Banu al-Mustaliq returned to their former status as a free, intact tribe, now Muslim. Aisha RA said she knew of no woman who brought more blessing to her people than Juwayriyya RA.
