Zayd ibn al-Dathinah RA

Zayd ibn al-Dathinah RA was one of the Companions betrayed at al-Raji in 4 AH, sold in Makkah to Safwan ibn Umayyah, whose father Umayyah ibn Khalaf he had helped kill at Badr. He was executed as a public spectacle. Asked by Abu Sufyan whether he wished the Prophet ﷺ were in his place, he answered that he would rather die than have the Prophet ﷺ pricked by a thorn, and Abu Sufyan said he had never seen a leader so loved by his followers.
