عَمْرو بن العاص
Privately accepted Islam before the Najashi in Abyssinia after seeking permission to kill the Prophet ﷺ's envoy; formally embraced Islam before the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah alongside Khalid ibn al-Walid and Uthman ibn Talha, shortly before the Conquest of Makkah, after asking that his past sins be forgiven.
Amr ibn al-As RA, son of al-As ibn Wa'il, was the Quraysh's leading diplomat, sent to Abyssinia to bring back the Muslim emigrants. Convinced after Khandaq that the Prophet ﷺ would prevail, he was moved by the Najashi's rebuke and accepted Islam, arriving in Madinah with Khalid ibn al-Walid and Uthman ibn Talha shortly before the Conquest of Makkah. Within months the Prophet ﷺ gave him command of the expedition to Dhat al-Salasil, and he was later sent to Oman. After the Prophet ﷺ's death he conquered Egypt and North Africa, and Sunni scholars hold that he acted sincerely in the later strife among the Companions.

“Those of you who donated and fought before the victory (i.e., the Conquest of Makkah) are unparalleled. They are far greater in rank than those who donated and fought afterwards.”
Cited regarding Amr ibn al-As's conversion shortly before the Conquest of Makkah.
“Do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allah is ever Merciful to you.”
Amr cited this verse to justify performing tayammum rather than a potentially fatal cold-weather ghusl.
