أبو قحافة
Abu Quhafah RA was the father of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq RA. Blind in old age, he refused Islam throughout the Makkan years; when Abu Bakr left on the Hijrah with his savings, his granddaughter Asma RA reassured him with a bag of pebbles. As the army entered Makkah in 8 AH he had his youngest daughter take him up Abu Qubays to watch, and afterwards Abu Bakr brought him to the Prophet ﷺ, who said he would have come to him at home, stroked his chest and invited him to Islam, which he accepted. The Prophet ﷺ told them to change the whiteness of his hair, but avoid black.
