Abu Aziz ibn Umayr was the brother of Mus'ab ibn Umayr RA, captured fighting for the Quraysh at Badr in 2 AH. Mus'ab told his captor to guard him well because their mother would pay a rich ransom, saying the Ansari was his brother now. Abu Aziz later described how his Ansari captors gave him their bread and ate only dates themselves, following the Prophet ﷺ's command to treat prisoners kindly.
