Saying · A few days after the wedding
Heading out with the caravan to Syria.
~Before the birth of the Prophet ﷺ, c. 570 CE · 52 BH
A few days after marrying Aminah bint Wahab, Abdullah departed with a trade caravan for Syria. He fell seriously ill on the return journey, and when the caravan reached Yathrib he chose to stay behind with relatives there (his grandmother, Abdul Muttalib's mother, lived in Yathrib) rather than delay the rest of the group. He died there while Aminah was pregnant with their son; his burial place is unknown to this day.
