Aminah bint Wahb was the mother of the Prophet ﷺ, daughter of Wahb, chief of the Banu Zuhrah of the Quraysh. Very little is recorded of her life. She married Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, who died in Yathrib within months, leaving her a young widow carrying his child, and she gave birth to the Prophet ﷺ after the Year of the Elephant. She entrusted him to the wet nurse Halimah al-Sa'diyah for longer than usual. When he was about six she took him with Umm Ayman RA to visit relatives in Yathrib, and on the way home she fell ill and died at al-Abwa', where she was buried. Years later the Prophet ﷺ was given permission to visit her grave.
