Waraqa ibn Nawfal ibn Asad ibn Abd al-Uzza RA

Waraqah ibn Nawfal RA was the elderly cousin of Khadijah RA and one of the hunafa' of pre-Islamic Makkah who sought the religion of Ibrahim AS; he became a Christian, knew Hebrew, and copied from the Gospel. When Khadijah brought the Prophet ﷺ to him after the first revelation in the cave of Hira, the old, blind Waraqah recognized the angel as the same one sent to Musa AS, and warned that the Prophet ﷺ's people would drive him out. He died a few days later. In a report that al-Tirmidhi grades weak, the Prophet ﷺ saw him in a dream wearing white, and on that basis some count him among the very first to accept Islam.
