Mudar ibn Nizar was an ancestor of the Prophet ﷺ and, with his brother Rabi'ah, one of the two main branches of the descendants of Adnan in northern Arabia. He is said to have been the first Arab to train camels for caravan travel and to compose the chants used to drive them. Uyaynah ibn Hisn once boasted he had never asked permission to enter the house of a man of Mudar.
