Ma'boor was a servant sent to the Prophet ﷺ by the Muqawqis of Egypt with Maria RA and her sister Sirin, by some reports a relative of Maria. When rumours spread that he was visiting Maria, the Prophet ﷺ sent Ali RA with his sword to find him, a mission scholars understand either as an execution or, with Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Hazm, as a way to uncover the truth. Ali found that Ma'boor had been castrated, proving the rumours false.
