Khabbab ibn al-Aratt RA

Khabbab ibn al-Aratt RA was one of the first ten people to accept Islam, an Arab slave and swordsmith owned by a woman of Makkah, Umm Anmar, who burned his back with his own irons for his faith. It was Khabbab who came to the Prophet ﷺ at the Ka'bah asking how long the persecution would last. One of the more knowledgeable early Companions, he taught the Qur'an to Fatimah bint al-Khattab RA and her husband and brought Umar RA to the house of al-Arqam to accept Islam. He fought in all the Prophet ﷺ's campaigns and died in Kufa around 37 or 39 AH, weeping that he had been given the comforts of this world that his martyred companions never tasted.
