Jabir ibn Abdillah RA

Jabir ibn Abdillah RA was one of the most famous of the Ansar, of the Khazraj, the son of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Haram RA. He accepted Islam as a boy, was perhaps the youngest witness of the Second Pledge of Aqabah, and gave his pledge under the tree at Hudaybiyyah. When his father was martyred at Uhud, leaving a heavy debt and seven daughters, Jabir married a widow so she could care for his sisters; the Prophet ﷺ's kindness to him over his camel on the way back from Dhat al-Riqa' is a famous story. He witnessed the miracle of the food at the Trench and the whale on the Expedition of the Withered Leaves. One of the last Companions to die, he narrated more than four thousand hadith, including the most detailed account of the Farewell Hajj, the foundation of its fiqh.
