حكيم بن حزام
Hakim ibn Hizam RA was a nobleman of the Quraysh and the nephew of Khadijah RA, who lived long first as a sympathetic idolater and then as a Companion, dying in 54 AH. Before Islam he bought the young Zayd ibn Harithah at the fair of Ukkadh for Khadijah. He secretly smuggled food to Banu Hashim during the boycott, and at Badr tried to prevent the battle. He accepted Islam at the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH. After Hunayn he repeatedly asked for more of the spoils, and when the Prophet ﷺ taught him that wealth taken with greed never satisfies, he vowed never to ask anyone for anything again, and kept that vow.
