Amr ibn Asad was Khadija RA's uncle, of the clan of Asad of the Quraysh. Some reports name him as her guardian when she married the Prophet ﷺ, and in Ibn Faris's account he accepted the proposal after Abu Talib's marriage sermon; Ibn Ishaq instead names her father, Khuwaylid ibn Asad, as the one who gave her in marriage.
