During the time of fitna in Ali RA's khilafah, Ammar ibn Yasir RA chose to fight on the side of Ali RA against the forces of Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan RA. He drank a last glass of milk, then went out and died from an arrow shot, fulfilling what the Prophet ﷺ had told him decades earlier while they built Masjid al-Nabawi: that al-Fiat al-Baghiyah (the Group That Has Gone Beyond the Bounds) would be the ones to kill him, and that his last drink in this world would be a glass of milk.
As Sunni, this hadith is taken to mean Ali RA was closer to the truth than Muawiyah RA in the fitna, though both are respected as sahaba and neither is disparaged: Muawiyah RA is regarded as sincere too. A third group of sahaba, the "Abadilah" (Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr RA, Abdullah ibn Umar RA, and Ibn Abbas RA), declined repeated calls to fight on either side.

This fulfilled what the Prophet ﷺ had told Ammar RA years earlier while they carried bricks together building Masjid al-Nabawi: that he would be killed by the transgressing group, and that his last drink in this world would be a glass of milk.
