A tribe on the outskirts of Makkah, allied with the Quraysh; the only tribe in the Makkan vicinity still upon paganism after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. Had fought the Khuza'a on and off for roughly a century. In the 8th year of the Hijrah, with Quraysh permission and weapons, they raided the Khuza'a by night at al-Watir, killing more than twenty people and breaching the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah: the direct cause of the Conquest of Makkah.
Notable for: Not to be confused with the Najdi Banu Bakr ibn Kilab. Their raid on the Khuza'a provided the casus belli for the Conquest of Makkah.
